An Introduction to the Use of Anti Cancer Drugs
Imran Rafi
editore: Butterworth-Heinemann Ltd
pagine: 224
The aim of this book is to provide an introduction to the principles of drug treatment for solid tumours in cancer medicine. Developments in the understanding of tumour biology, molecular biology and genetics - together with the greater understanding of the pharmacology and pharmacokinetics of drugs - have combined to open up the field of medical oncology to rapid advances in the treatment of cancers. The range of drugs that are available is wide and one of the primary aims in drug development is to increase the therapeutic window so that drug toxicity is minimised and tolerable. Drug development of oral formulations of anticancer drugs and the use of drugs that could be given in the day patient setting means that healthcare professionals such as general practitioners - who historically might not have been involved in the drug treatment of the cancer patient - are now going to need to have a greater understanding of the principles of use of anticancer drugs. This book is primarily aimed at this market.
Pharmacology for Physical Therapists
Barbara Gladson
editore: Saunders (W.B.) Co Ltd
pagine: 528
This core textbook in pharmacology presents basic pharmacologic principles along with the mechanism of action and side effects of drugs commonly seen in physical therapy practice. Chapters are organized using a systems approach with each section beginning with the pathophysiology of disease and continuing with a discussion of the drug groups used for treatment. Sections end with a discussion about how drugs affect physical therapy intervention and how physical therapy may affect drug effectiveness. Adverse drug reactions are reviewed and the therapist is then counseled on the appropriate emergency or non-emergency intervention necessary. The last two chapters of the book provide an in-depth discussion regarding the medication/exercise response as it pertains to cardiopulmonary illnesses, oncology, and diabetes.

Invecchiamento e consumo di farmaci
Vittorio Mapelli
editore: Il Sole 24 Ore
pagine: 118
Aggiornamento scientifico e professionale

Analisi chimico farmaceutica
Francesco Savelli , Olga Bruno
editore: Piccin-Nuova Libraria
pagine: 520
PrefazioneQuesto testo di Analisi Chimico Farmaceutica comprende:
analisi qualitativa inorganica ed organica,
metodi spettroscopici,
tecniche cromatografiche ed elettroforesi capillare,
approccio metodologico all’analisi dei farmaci in matrici complesse
fornisce un agevole percorso di analisi qualitativa atto a facilitare la individuazione dei farmaci iscritti nella European Pharmacopoeia, Ed.5a (EP5);
