Coma e stato vegetativo: un problema scientifico, etico e sociale. La "Giornata dei risvegli per la Ricerca sul coma: Vale la pena", che l'associazione di volontariato ONLUS "Gli amici di Luca" promuove il 7 ottobre di ogni anno, propone su questi temi momenti di riflessione. Il libro raccoglie alcune tra le più importanti esperienze nel settore, in Italia e all'estero, con le relazioni di studiosi e operatori intervenuti al convegno "Coma e stati vegetativi, percorsi di assistenza" (Bologna, 5-6 ottobre 2001). La pubblicazione è divisa in due parti: la prima affronta il "vale la pena" che contraddistingue il diritto alla vita; la seconda raccoglie le esperienze degli operatori e le risposte del sistema sanitario italiano.
